CANNES — UGC Intl. has sold “Vidocq,” the directorial debut of French special effects wizard Pitof, to nine territories in two days.
Pic has sold to Spain’s Vertigo, Benelux’s Les Films de l’Elysee, Switzerland’s GMH, Korean’s Jay Net Image, Turkey’s Ozen Films, Israel’s Shani Films, Russia’s Central Partnership, Poland’s Vision and Taiwan’s CMC Magnetics.
A four-minute promo reel of the $25 million buzz pic was seen by about 300 buyers. Shot on digital video, “Vidocq” stars Gerard Depardieu and Guillaume Canet.
