CANNES — Jacques Le Glou’s Mercure Distribution will handle international sales of Francois Dupeyron’s $9 million in-competition pic “La Chambre des Officiers” (The Officers’ Ward) on behalf of producer ARP.
The deal “could be the start of a long association between Mercure and ARP,” Le Glou told Variety Thursday.
ARP has handled its own international sales, but company chief Laurent Petin wants to concentrate more on production, Le Glou said.
ARP produced “Taxi 2,” France’s No. 1 box office hit in 2000.
It will theatrically distribute “La Chambre des Officiers” in France.
