NEW DELHI — National Films Development Corp. (NFDC) is setting up the first Indian pavilion this year at the Cannes Film Festival, which opens May 9.
Indian Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the pavilion on May 13.
NFDC is a government-funded body that looks after the production and distribution of Indian films. Recent pics, including Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ashoka the Great” and Aamir Khan’s “Lagaan,” will be available at the fest along with a showcase on Indian films.
