Cannes Market participants up

Screenings also on the rise

CANNES — The Cannes Market has attracted 6,164 participants in its first five days, a “solid increase” of 2% over the same period last year, according to executive director Jerome Paillard.

The number of companies was up from 1,863 last year to 1,905.

The number of films being screened has risen 7% to 717, with almost half of them preeming at the market.

Buyers, though, are slightly down in number, Paillard said.
