Double DVD features commentary from Sharif, Steiger

HOLLYWOOD — The 1965 Oscar-winning epic “Doctor Zhivago” will sweep onto DVD as a double-disc set from Warner Home Video on Nov. 6.

The package features commentary by stars Omar Sharif and Rod Steiger, and director David Lean’s widow, Sandra. The disc also includes audio interviews from the film’s premiere and vintage documentaries.

The set, with a $29.99 suggested retail price, contains nearly six hours of content, including the 197-minute film.

A special edition videocassette with 23 minutes of bonus material will be priced at $19.98.

The film won five Academy Awards: screenplay, cinematography, score, art direction and costume design.
