Volume.com lowered for good

AOL Time Warner said Monday that it will shutter Volume.com, a year-old news, entertainment and fashion site founded by HBO to target trend-conscious youth, due to the poor economy. Site will close Nov. 1.

AOL Time Warner will try to place Volume.com’s roughly 20 employees in other jobs within HBO and other AOL Time Warner units.

Volume.com sold advertising on the site and offered services such as Volume Radio, which played hip-hop music, and message boards.
