‘Uplister’ is latest dot-bomb

Digital music subscription service Uplister.com has called it quits after investor August Capital elected to pull its funding from the company. Uplister had planned to bow its service, which would have competed with the better-funded major-label offerings MusicNet and PressPlay, by the end of this year. Company was to have offered songs from artists on several independent labels, including TVT, Alternative Tentacles and Moonshine, using Microsoft’s Windows Media digital security.
