OpenTV bows updated version of Spyglass

OpenTV said Wednesday that it has released an updated version of Spyglass Prism that translates Web content and converts it into formats that match the limited display capabilities of non-PC devices, including mobile phones, PDAs and other wireless devices. It has also pacted with mPortal to transfer Internet content to wireless devices, as well as interactive TV set top boxes. New version of Spyglass Prism was driven by the booming demand for wireless content in Asia. OpenTV’s software has been shipped with or installed in more than 13.9 million digital set-top boxes worldwide, including to services DirecTV, BSkyB and PrimaCom.
