NTL goes digital in Ireland

Platform available to 140,000 homes

LONDON — U.K. cabler NTL has launched its digital TV platform for the Irish market.

The service, branded Go Digital, will initially be available to a possible 140,000 households in Dublin, Galway and Waterford and will offer a total of 73 channels.

NTL, Britain’s no. 1 cable company, currently has 374,000 analog subscribers in Ireland. It also owns cable networks in Germany, France, Sweden and Switzerland.
