TORONTO — Entertainment finance and software company Recoup Inc. has teamed up with software specialist IntraLinks to launch Digital Workspaces, software that allows film partners at different locations to work with shared documents on the Internet.
Traditionally documents are faxed, mailed and couriered back and forth as any deal develops. “This is the down-and-dirty stuff that drives lawyers, producers and bankers crazy,” said Recoup prexy Paul Stewart.
Digital Workspaces is a secure Internet platform that all parties can access, cutting out much of the to-ing and fro-ing of paper.
“It’s not that flashy,” Stewart said, “but for the people who do this every day, it’s going to save a lot of time and make life a lot easier.”
