The Walt Disney Internet Group has inked a deal with SeaRainbow Holding Corp to feature Disney.com and Disney’s Blast content online in China. SeaRainbow will put all content into Mandarin Chinese and will host the new site at Disney.com.cn, which will also include links from SeaRainbow’s 17 Web sites in China, including gaming sites ourgame.com and asiagame.com, as well as educational venture ChinaEd.com. Disney’s Blast content will be a subscription service focused on premium games and activities. “We are very excited about entering the online arena in China at this time as it represents an untapped market with many opportunities,” said Mark Handler, exec veep and managing director, intl. of WDIG. SeaRainbow’s Internet business is a joint venture with China Telecom, which is the top ISP in China and controls more than 82% of the global bandwidth connections in China.
