Media.net speeds up prod’n for 8 Canuck companies

Media.net has added eight Canadian post-production houses to its high-speed network, which enables digital dailies and other video to be transmitted between film and television studios, post-production facilities and visual effects companies to speed up the production process.

The companies are Rainmaker Digital, Toybox, Toybox West, Medallion/PFA, Manta Sound, Manta DSP, AlphaCine and Eyes Post Group. Rainmaker Digital in Vancouver, for example, is providing telecine services for “Smallville” and “Young Person’s Guide to Being a Rock Star,” two new fall series from Warner Bros. Television.

The Canadian facilities join other post outlets in Hollywood, New York and Sydney that use Media.net’s network to produce mainly TV product.
