Loudeye nabs DiscoverMusic

Software company Loudeye Technologies has acquired DiscoverMusic, giving the infrastructure provider access to song samples from BMG Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. DiscoverMusic provides music to more than 80 e-tailers including Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, CDNow and Tower Records. Loudeye previously announced the creation of a software platform that allows Netcos to distribute music. Shares of Loudeye went up almost 6% to $2.31on Wednesday.
