American exec ankles Beeb, joins new media outfit
LONDON — Drew Kaza has ankled his position as MD of Internet and interactive at BBC Worldwide to become CEO of The Hospital Group, the new media venture from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and rock star Dave Stewart.
The Hospital, located in London’s Covent Garden district, is skedded to open late next year and promises to be an all-in-one, state-of-the-art facility for music, film, tv and art production.
Kaza, 42, will oversee the next phase of the complex’s development and build. Allen is backing the venture, Stewart is the creative director.
Kaza, who is from the U.S., told Daily Variety he would in addition be seeking to acquire, or partner with, like-minded companies in Europe. Creating broadband content is also on the front burner.
