Inside Move: ‘Smush’ push for producer

Davies pacts with Jellyvision for next computer game

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” exec producer Michael Davies has pacted with Jellyvision, creators of the hit CD-ROM “You Don’t Know Jack,” to develop a series based on the company’s next computer game.

The new CD-ROM, “Smush,” includes trivia questions, much like “Jack,” but with a twist. Davies and his Diplomatic production company will pitch the project to various cable networks at the end of March.

Project will be pitched as a strip, with a strong Internet component. Davies previously worked with the Chicago-based Jellyvision on producing the various CD-ROM versions of “Millionaire.” Carsey-Werner-Mandabach has been developing a small screen version of “You Don’t Know Jack,” hosted by Paul Reubens, for ABC. That gamer is scheduled to air later this year.

Meanwhile, Davies is also in talks with the WB to help produce the reality-based project “Don’t You Feel Stupid,” starring Jamie Kennedy (“Scream”). Show takes a guerrilla-video tack with big set-up gags (Daily Variety, Oct. 20). Exec producers Mike Karz and Jeff Boggs are also attached to the Michigan J project.
