After years of unfulfilled promises of interactivity by a myriad of hopefuls, Fistful of Pixels is at last enabling Netizens to watch a show and click to buy the character’s clothing.
The Gotham-based prodco recently teamed with film production company DownHome Entertainment and has inked with Television.com to stream their frosh project “55 mercer street.” Show, which centers around a group of twentysomething loftmates adrift in Soho, will enable a character’s apparel, accessories and home furnishings to be available for click-through shopping.
Featured products include furniture made by Phillipe Starke and Pensi; handbags made by Monica Lewinsky; watches, glasses and other accessories by Fossil, Puma, and Yak Pak; and clothing by hip outfitters Caffeine, Dickies, Silver Jeans and others. Twenty initial webisodes will be streamed, each running between three to five minutes in length.
Formed early last year by Steeplechase Media, Television.com is helmed by E! Entertainment Television founder Larry Namer and Viacom and E! programming executive Rick Portin.
