DuPuis buys a Dream

Web design shop Dream Theater, which creates movie Web sites for various studios, as well as entertainment-based online campaigns for other brands, has been acquired by branding and design firm the DuPuis Group. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“In addition to creatively translating brands and properties to the Web, we can now offer internationally recognized strategic branding capabilities,” said Dream Theater’s prexy Darren Chuckry.

As part of the move, Dream Theater’s animation division has been renamed Brain Zoo Studios and continues to supplement Dream Theater’s capabilities with 3-D services.

The company has created film Web sites for Warner Bros., Disney, Sony, Fox, Universal and Paramount, as well as Intel, Lexus and Dep, among others. Based in Los Angeles, DuPuis’ clients include Mattel, Hasbro, Kellogg’s, Dole, Nestle, Proctor & Gamble, Mercedes Benz, Warner Bros., Vivendi Universal and Disney.
