Former Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan has created “Glass and the Machines of God,” an interactive Web series that will appear on Sony’s online entertainment platform Screenblast later this year.
The plot of the 16 installments of the series centers on a rock star named Glass, who is bored with the rock ‘n’ roll game and is faced with a mysterious event that changes the way he lives his life.
Webisodes include songs from the Pumpkins’ last two albums. Musicvid helmer Graham Morris and artist Jim Evans co-produce the project.
Separately, online gamemaker WildTangent and Distant Corners Entertainment Group have pacted to create sci-fi thriller “Evilution: The Legend of Helnaar” to appear exclusively on Screenblast.
“Evilution” is based on Creature Feature’s movie “How to Make a Monster,”about a group of greedy misfit programmers who develop the ultimate scary videogame; pic is skedded to appear today on pay cabler Cinemax. The Creature Feature series is produced by Lou Arkoff, Stan Winston and Colleen Camp. “Evilution” was created by John Hegeman, Distant Corners founder and former marketing topper at Artisan Entertainment.
