Exec to o'see legal, development issues in day-to-day ops
HOLLYWOOD — James Birch has been promoted to senior VP of business affairs and general counsel for Warner Bros. Intl. Theaters.
Birch, who is London-based, will continue to report to L.A.-based Millard Ochs, president of WBIT, and will continue to be responsible for all legal and development issues affecting the day-to-day operation and growth of the division.
“James’ keen understanding of the rapidly evolving international exhibition business makes him a crucial part of our operation,” Ochs said. “He’s made a number of valuable contributions to our division since joining us five years ago, and I look forward to working with him in this expanded capacity, where we will continue to rely on his expertise and insight.”
Prior to this promotion, Birch served as VP, business affairs and general counsel, a post he was promoted to in 1998 after joining the company in 1996 as director, European business and legal affairs. Before joining WB, Birch worked as a solicitor at the law firms Rio Tinto and prior to that at the law firm Freshfields.
