Diane Nelson has been promoted to senior VP of family entertainment for Warner Bros.’ corporate marketing and planning. In her newly created position, she will report to exec VP of marketing and planning Sandy Reisenbach.
Nelson will be responsible for development and management of Warners’ children’s and family brands, with a special focus and emphasis on the “Harry Potter” property, for which she serves as the global brand manager across all Warners business units.
“Diane has been integral in developing and implementing our kids’ brand strategy, and with shaping and executing the all-important ‘Harry Potter’ franchise,” said Reisenbach. “We will continue to rely on her expertise, experience and enthusiasm as we increase our family entertainment efforts.”
Nelson joined Warner Bros. in 1996 as director of corporate promotions and rapidly moved up to VP of corporate promotions and most recently to veep, family entertainment. Prior to Warner Bros., she served as director of national promotions at Walt Disney Records. Nelson has also served as an account supervisor with Foote, Cone & Belding Advertising in San Francisco.
