Thousands of CDs, DVDs seized

BANGKOK — CD pirates got a surprise Halloween visit Tuesday from Motion Picture Assn. anti-piracy officials and the Royal Thai police, who raided an illegal factory outside Bangkok.

Among the seized goods was a DVD line used to make illegal DVDs of recent Hollywood films, the first such seizure in Thailand.

In addition, 1,050 music CDs, 1,000 software CDs and 3,000 movie discs were seized. The Thai operation was turning out multilanguage switchable subtitling, offset printing and marking discs as “All Zone.”
