Sony bows marketing arm

Group to help with o'seas efforts, Web site

NEW YORK — Sony Corp. said Friday it has created a marketing and event promotion group to manage corporate events and coordinate cross-divisional marketing opportunities for Sony’s U.S. operating divisions, including Sony Electronics, Sony Music and Sony Pictures.

Unit will also assist Sony with international marketing efforts and oversee its U.S. Web site, Sony.com.

Longtime sports marketer Mike Dyer, who joined Sony from the National Basketball Assn. last fall, will head the division. Susan Jurevics of Sony strategic planning will become its senior director of marketing.
