HOLLYWOOD — Artisan Entertainment chief operating officer Ken Schapiro has received the additional title of president and has been appointed to the board of directors.
Schapiro will continue to work closely with company CEO Amir Malin in overseeing day-to-day activities and strategic planning at Artisan and its two wholly owned divisions, Artisan Pictures and Artisan Home Entertainment.
Schapiro, who has been with Artisan since 1998, is charged with integrating the day-to-day operations of Artisan as a result of the recent merger with Landscape Entertainment. All of Artisan’s theatrical feature and television development, production, marketing and distribution remain under Artisan vice chairman Bob Cooper’s supervision.
Prior to joining Artisan, Schapiro served as executive VP of Morgan Creek Prods. and Morgan Creek Intl., where he was responsible for international distribution as well as financing motion pictures and new business development.
Schapiro is a graduate of Harvard Law School and has a bachelor of arts from the University of California, Berkeley.
