SAG fund receives $400,000 gift

Doran bequeaths largest donation ever

The Screen Actors Guild Foundation has received more than $400,000 from the estate of guild activist-thesp Ann Doran, the largest such bequest the foundation has ever received.

Doran, who died last September after a career that included appearing in more than 500 films and TV shows, bequeathed the funds and her residuals in perpetuity to the foundation’s John L. Dales Scholarship Fund.

Doran was an original member of the scholarship committee and served five years as SAG’s recording secretary and one year as 4th VP.

She also was a member of the Motion Picture Television Fund Board from 1954 to 1990.
