The Screen Actors Guild has sent out 98,577 ballots for its election with a Halloween deadline for return.
SAG’s membership is about 110,000, but only paid-up members are sent ballots. Results will be announced Nov. 5.
All members may vote for president, recording secretary and treasurer; regional voting will take place for the dozen VP slots and more than 30 board seats. Turnout is typically in the 20%-25% range.
SAG’s Women’s Committee issued a call for managers, publicists and business managers receiving campaign materials or ballots to pass along the items. “A tremendous amount of energy, time and money is being spent educating the members, and we hope that this will insure that they receive all possible information before they cast their votes,” the panel said.
