RLT sports talks with Canal Plus

World Brief

Didier Bellens, head of the RTL Group, confirmed Friday that the company was still in talks with the Canal Plus group with a view to collaboration in sports rights, audiovisual production and film.

“It is a good moment to put that in place, especially where sports rights are concerned. One could imagine a rapid deal,” Bellens told the French financial daily Les Echos.

Canal Plus chief Pierre Lescure first revealed a year ago that two European TV groups were in talks.
