Paxson signals Goodman boost

Exec instrumental in building co. from a radio group, chairman sez

NEW YORK — Dean M. Goodman has been upped to chief operating officer of Paxson Communications.

Goodman will oversee the DTV operations and joint sales agreements for the company and continue to supervise ad sales, station and affiliate operations, and legislative and governmental relations.

“Dean has been instrumental in building Paxson from a radio group,” said Lowell “Bud” Paxson, company chair. “He has successfully handled the duties of chief operating officer for the last year and this formal title acknowledges and affirms his vital role to the company.”

Goodman played a key role in Paxson’s expansion and in 1998 helped launched Pax TV. Before joining the company, he was executive VP of Gilmore Broadcasting’s radio and TV group.

Headquartered in West Palm Beach, Fla., Paxson Communications owns and operates the nation’s largest broadcast TV station group and Pax TV.
