The Screen Actors Guild has tapped board member Richard Dreyfuss and prexy William Daniels as speakers at Friday’s state legislative hearing on agents and managers.
The hearing will be held by a State Senate select committee, which has been reviewing state rules on talent agents and managers. Dreyfuss has emerged this year as a key player by pushing for public discussion of the issue.
SAG and the Assn. of Talent Agents are at an impasse over the tenpercenters’ request to loosen the financial interest rules and other regs in SAG’s agency franchise agreement.
John Connolly, prexy of the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, will also speak. AFTRA has agreed to meet with the ATA to discuss possible revisions of its regulations, which have not been changed since 1958.
