Programmer gets a raise
HOLLYWOOD — Fox Broadcasting Co. has elevated Tony Optican to vice-president of current programming.
Optican will act as a key creative liaison between Fox and producers of Fox programming.
Since 1999, he has served as director of current programming. Before joining Fox, Optican was executive director of creative affairs at MGM Worldwide Television Group, where he supervised the launch of series such as Showtime’s “Stargate SG-1” and CBS’ “The Magnificent Seven.”
He will continue to report to Lance Taylor, senior veep of current programming.
