Fred Lounsberry, previously executive vice president marketing and sales at Universal Orlando, was promoted Wednesday to senior VP sales for Universal Studios Recreation Group.
Lounsberry will be responsible for sales activities in U’s worldwide theme-park operations while continuing to oversee day-to-date sales functions at its Florida parks. He was one of the original members of the Universal Studios Florida startup team, joining U in 1987.
“As the division continues to expand domestically and internationally, Fred’s extensive sales experience will be invaluable,” said Wyman Roberts, exec veep and chief marketing officer of Universal Studios Recreation Group.
Prior to joining U, Lounsberry was sales and marketing director for Expo ’86 in Vancouver.
