NEW YORK — Liberty Media has appointed Michael Erickson to oversee investor and media relations, replacing Vivian Carr, who is retiring.

Erickson has been VP and controller for Liberty Media Intl., overseeing operations in Latin America. He also worked at Liberty’s predecessor company, Tele-Communications Inc., which founder John Malone sold to AT&T several years ago.

Carr has been at Liberty since its inception 10 years ago.

Liberty is based in Englewood, Colo.
