Screen Actors Guild presidential candidate Melissa Gilbert has unveiled her “Restoring Respect” slate with nine other candidates.
Gilbert, who had already tapped 1st VP hopeful Mike Farrell as a running mate, included Amy Aquino for treasurer, Kevin Kilner for secretary and Trista Delamere, Farrell, Shelly Fabares, Jason Kravitz, Peter Onorati, Jerry Sroka and Vivicca Whitsett for national board seats.
Gilbert’s campaign has been critical of current SAG prexy William Daniels and has called for better tracking of residuals, fighting runaway production and eliminating “wasteful” spending.
Gilbert, citing “character and leadership,” also endorsed half a dozen other candidates — Tom LaGrua for 3rd VP, Esai Morales for 9th VP, Michael Harrity for 11th VP and Barbara Cheeseborough, Lee Garlington and Russell McConnell for board seats. LaGrua and Morales are part of the slate of rival presidential candidate Valerie Harper.
The Gilbert slate and endorsees also received endorsement from the Working Actors Unite group, founded last year by SAG voiceover performers. WAU also endorsed the following Gotham-based candidates: Eileen Henry for 2nd VP, Paul Christie for 4th VP, Tony Roberts for 10th VP, Skip Hinnant for 12th VP and Maureen Donnelly, Eileen Henry, Mike Hodge, Gerald Kline, Jay Potter, KJ Sanchez, Cynthia Vance and Liz Zazzi.
