Jerry Giaquinta, formerly senior veep of corporate communications at Sony Pictures Entertainment, has launched a consulting firm specializing in digital ventures.
Giaquinta, who prior to Sony held posts at Silicon Valley’s Tandem Computers and Silicon Graphics, said the new firm will offer strategic marketing and communications services.
In connection with the launch of the Giaquinta Group, he also announced a strategic alliance with global praisery GCI Group. The firms expect to share some clients and collaborate on client services.
“As the line continues to blur between technology and consumer products, companies are facing a whole new level of communications challenges,” GCI chief Bob Feldman said. “Our alliance with the Giaquinta Group is an ideal extension of the entrepreneurial culture of GCI.”
Giaquinta also announced an advisory council to the Giaquinta Group. Members include Jay Chiat of ad agency Chiat/Day; Regis McKenna of consulting firm McKenna Group; Mike Medavoy of Phoenix Pictures; and Pete Sealey, director of the Center for Marketing and Technology at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Gianquinta said he expects his firm, GCI and the advisory council to collaborate on various issues related to what he described as an emerging “digital lifestyle.”
“We are still in the early stages of this technology-influenced lifestyles revolution,” Giaquinta said. “We will leverage our combined experiences for the benefit of established corporate clients, as well as for exciting emerging businesses.”
