Fox Filmed Entertainment has tapped former Disney exec Dean Hallett as chief financial officer and exec VP of finance.
Before taking the Fox post, Hallett served as exec veep and chief financial officer for Walt Disney Studios, a position he had held since January 2000.
“Dean’s impressive experience in finance, strategy and operations will be instrumental in helping us tackle the myriad challenges and opportunities presented by today’s — and tomorrow’s — business environments,” said Fox toppers Tom Rothman and Jim Gianopulos in a statement.
Hallett replaces former Fox CFO-prexy Simon Bax, who ankled the company last month to explore CEO and chief operating officer positions both inside and outside the entertainment industry (Variety, Sept. 24).
“I am thrilled to sit at the table with Jim and Tom and to be part of the team that takes Fox Filmed Entertainment to its next generation of success,” said Hallett.
Hallett joined the Disney company in 1990 and the studio in 1991. Prior to his CFO role, he served as senior veep of planning and control at Disney. Before that, he was VP of finance and administration for Buena Vista Pictures marketing.
