Org looks to 'avoid misinformation in the creative process'
Entertainment Industries Inc. (EIC) is expanding the scope of First Draft, its creative resource for writers, directors and producers, to include information concerning terrorism, discrimination and mental health during times of war.
“As we search for what our industry can do to help, we have an obligation to consider the accuracy of life-saving information and to avoid misinformation in the creative process,” said EIC prexy and CEO Brian Dyak as he announced the expansion Friday.
The free resource, which currently refers creatives to leading authorities on gun violence, firearm safety, substance abuse and addiction, will be adding top experts on biological and chemical warfare, homeland security, anti-terrorism activities and the anthropology, sociology and psychology of terrorism to its roster. Communications experts and specialists in racial and religious prejudice, grieving, victimization, cultural diversity, anger management, tolerance and mental health will also be provided.
These extended services will be made available beginning Thursday. First Draft calls can be directed to (800) 783-3421 or (818) 955-6845.
