More casualities in Guild reorganization
A pair of top contract execs have become the third and fourth top administrators to announce their departure from the Screen Actors Guild since the beginning of the union’s sweeping reorganization.
Contracts director Ellie Abrahamson and senior administrator of industrial contracts Allen D. Weingartner decided to leave in the wake of CEO Bob Pisano’s announcement of a top-to-bottom operational review. SAG reps confirmed the departures; Abrahamson and Weingartner were not available for comment.
Pisano announced last week the creation of an executive structure, with the six top SAG execs reporting to him. Move created a deputy national exec director for contracts, with Hollywood branch director Jerre Hookey tapped for the slot on an interim basis.
Abrahamson received a 1999 salary of $108,457. Weingartner joined the SAG staff in 1997.
Last week, national human resources director Linda Shick ankled and finance director Gerald Wilson said he will retire once a replacement is hired.
