Exhib Century Theatres has joined the National Assn. of Theatre Owners, the trade group announced Thursday.
San Rafael, Calif.-based Century operates some 800 screens concentrated in the Western U.S.
“With our expansion into 11 states, this seemed an excellent time to join the national association,” Century chief executive Raymond Syufy said. “We are looking forward to being an active member.”
Century prexy Joseph Syufy was named to NATO’s exec committee.
Based in North Hollywood and Washington, D.C., NATO represents 22 of the top 25 largest North American movie chains. General Cinemas and Edwards Theatres Circuit are among other recent additions to the membership, while AMC Entertainment recently opted out of the group.
