Biz to fete SAG’s Orsatti

Industrywide dinner set for March 31

Adversaries will put differences aside to honor and roast Ken Orsatti, retired national exec director of the Screen Actors Guild, in an industrywide dinner March 31 at the Sheraton Universal.

Reps of studios, networks and other unions have agreed to participate in the event. Orsatti retired in January after two decades in SAG’s top post and 39 years at the guild.

Proceeds from the dinner, with tickets at $250, will go to a scholarship in Orsatti’s name through the SAG Foundation. Nick Counter, prexy of the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, is honorary chair of the committee putting on the event.
