Cindy McWethy has been promoted to senior vice president, finance & administration at Beacon Communications.
McWethy was formally vice president of finance at Beacon, a post she has held since 1997, and before that was controller of finance after joining the company in 1991.
In her new post, McWethy will continue to be responsible for all corporate and production financing and reporting.
“Cindy’s intelligence, ethics, and sense of fairness in dealing both within our company and throughout our community make her unique, said Thomas Bliss, chief operating officer of Beacon Communications.
Beacon is currently in production on “The Palace Thief,” the Michael Hoffman-directed pic starring Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Kline, Embeth Davidtz and Rob Morrow.
Also in the works is “Tuck Everlasting,” which Beacon is producing for the Walt Disney Co. and director Jay Russell, and “Spygame,” starring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, directed by Tony Scott.
Beacon’s box-office hits include “Air Force One,” the 1997 action thriller starring Harrison Ford, which grossed $300 million worldwide, the Oscar-nominated drama “The Hurricane,” starring Denzel Washington, and “End of Days” with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most recently, Beacon produced “The Family Man,” starring Nicolas Cage.
