Two Fox Filmed Entertainment execs, chief financial officer Simon Bax and senior veep of finance and business development Matthew Velkes, have recently ankled their posts at the studio.
Bax joined Fox in 1994 from the advertising agency Chiat/Day to become senior veep and chief financial officer under then Fox topper Bill Mechanic.
During his tenure at the studio, Bax played an instrumental role in negotiating Fox’s 15-year, multimillion-dollar pact with Arnon Milchan’s Regency Entertainment in 1997.
Bax is reportedly exploring CEO and chief operating officer positions both inside and outside the entertainment industry.
Velkes joined Fox in 1995 as director of business development after working as an investment banker and management consultant in Los Angeles and Gotham.
In 1998, he was upped to VP of business development and then senior veep of motion picture finance and business development in 1999.
Velkes has since joined Mechanic’s production and finance shingle Pandemonium after his Fox contract expired on Sept. 10.
