AFMA re-elects Morgan board chairman

Meyers, Bickel newly elected to exec committee

Kathy Morgan was re-elected chairman of the AFMA board for 2002, the org announced this week at its annual membership meeting.

Morgan, of Kathy Morgan Intl., will be joined in her two-year term by newly elected exec committee members Robert Meyers (general vice chairman) of Meyers Film Entertainment and Steve Bickel (vice chairman, secretary) of Orpheum Communications.

Continuing in their two-year exec panel posts will be independent producer Lawrence Garrett (chairman, American Film Export Assn.), Lewis Horwitz (vice chairman) of the Lewis Horwitz Organization, Howard Kaplan (vice chairman, finance) of Morgan Creek Intl. and Lloyd Kaufman (vice chairman) of Troma Entertainment.

Frosh faces

Newly elected to the board of directors for a one-year term are Joe Drake, Senator Film Intl.; Michael Goldman, Cinema Consultants Group; David Linde, Good Machine; Nicole Mackey, Lolafilms; Michael Ryan, IAC Film & Television; Alison Thompson, Pathe Intl.; and Michael Werner, Fortissimo Film Sales.

Re-elected to the board are Rob Aft, independent; Roger Corman, New Concorde; Mark Damon, MDP Worldwide; Pierre David, World Intl. Network; Jere Hausfater, Intermedia; Brad Krevoy, Motion Picture Corp. of America; Avi Lerner, Nu Image; Barbara Mudge, ECG Worldwide Entertainment; Steven Paul, Crystal Sky; Lawrence Safir, Safir Films; Rick Sands, Miramax Films; William Shields, independent; and Andrew Stevens, Franchise Pictures.
