LONDON — Zone Vision, the U.K.-based themed TV channel company, has partnered with Euro-porn producer Private Media Group to create Private Blue, a softcore adult channel that will first appear on satcaster BSkyB on April 5.
Zone has also revealed it intends to seek a Nasdaq listing early in 2001. The offering is intended to raise $35 million to fund Zone’s expansion in Europe and into Latin America. The company’s estimated market cap is about $300 million.
Zone’s current lineup of seven channels is available to about 16 million viewers across Europe.
Zone said it is in talks to secure carriage for Private Blue — which will actually be an improved version of Midnight Blue, the channel already on BSkyB — on BSkyB rival ONdigital as well as digital cable. There are also advanced plans to bring the service to Norway, Poland, Hungary and Turkey.
The deal gives Zone access to Private’s extensive softcore library. Zone’s other channels include Reality TV, Romantica and movie channel Le Cinema, which offers European films exclusively.
