Two-hour ayem show “WB11 Morning News” preemed Monday on Tribune Broadcasting’s WPIX Channel 11 to a notably strong 1.8 average Neilsen rating and 6 average share — a rise of 38% over its main competitor WNYW Channel 5’s two-hour “Good Day New York” debut show in August 1988.
“WB11 Morning News,” which is anchored by local news veterans Lynn White and John Muller, also beat out local and national news programming that aired during its 6-8 a.m. slot. The first hour scored a 2.2 rating and 9 share, nearly doubling the troubled WCBS/2’s 1.2/5 in the same period.
Show peaked between 6:45 and 7 a.m. with a 2.8 rating and 10 share.
Each New York rating point equals 68,749.9 television households.
