Diva's makeover show based on U.K. format 'Style Challenge'
Telepictures has got Cher, babe.
The Time Warner firstrun TV division has commissioned a “Fashion Emergency”-like pilot to be exec produced by the diva, who is known almost as much for her outrageous sense of style as for her career as a recording artist and thesp. The series could potentially be rolled out next year with an eye toward syndication.
Project is based on a U.K. format called “Style Challenge,” which Cher saw, liked and acquired the rights to.
The format features two guests who receive style makeovers from teams of specialists.
While the project’s development includes a host search, Cher may make appearances if the show goes forward.
Telepictures and ICM, which reps Cher, declined to comment.
Among Cher’s most recent TV ventures was a concert special for HBO, for which the costumers won a creative arts Emmy last weekend. She also did a CBS special about the life of her former husband, the late Sonny Bono.
