The 13-part doc series was co-produced with L.A.-based Associated TV Intl and was specifically created to appeal to Universal’s action and suspense viewers. Each hour doc episode will deal with a different aspect of evil and how it affects everyday life.
The first in the series, “Superstition,” will air simultaneously on Oct. 13 in Germany, Spain and Latin America, reaching 15 million homes. Other docs in the series include “Serial Killers,” “The Dead” and Human Nature.”
“We wanted to choose a subject that touches everyone’s lives in some way and at the same time delivers 13th Street’s promise of being the destination for danger on television,” USN VP of programming Lloyd Scott said.
The 13th Street channel in France is the most-watched basic channel on Canal Satellite Digital, while its counterpart in Spain, Calle 13, is the most popular basic fiction channel on its platform, according to Universal sources.
