NEW YORK — The USA network is hoping to capture a mass audience with a series about a mother-and-daughter team of bounty hunters, greenlighting “The Huntress” for 13 hourlong episodes.
The series, produced by Studios USA, a sister company of the network, starts production in Los Angeles on May 1, starring Annette O’Toole and Pamela Norris as the mother and daughter, and featuring James Remar as a friend who helps the two capture criminals on the run. USA plans to schedule the series sometime this summer.
“The Huntress” began life as a two-hour movie, which scored big in the ratings when USA ran it earlier this month.
David Eick, senior VP of original-series programming for USA, said the series will be “character-driven, focusing on a pair of women who are really fish out of water.”
