U Pay TV sells titles to AMC

'Mockingbird,' 'Spartacus,' 'Graffiti' among pics

NEW YORK — Universal Studios Pay TV has sold 250 of its library titles to AMC and its sister network Romance Classics.

The movies, which will flow to the two channels from March 2000 to December 2005, include “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Spartacus,” “American Graffiti,” “High Plains Drifter” and “Charade.”

Many of Universal’s horror movies from the ’30s and ’40s will also find their way to AMC, including “Dracula,” “Frankenstein,” “The Wolf Man” and “The Invisible Man.”

Romance Classics will draw on titles like “Out of Africa,” “Field of Dreams,” “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “Sixteen Candles.”
