Celebrating its first year on the air in Spain this week, Universal Studios action and suspense web Calle 13 is already the most widely distributed pay TV channel broadcast in that territory.
That’s the finding of a study by Media Planning, a research outfit whose details were published in local mag Arancios.
Calle 13’s programming is based on TV series such as “Twin Peaks,” “Miami Vice,” “Remington Steele,” “Hill Street Blues,” “Amazing Stories” and a selection of horror, suspense, action and sci-fi movies.
“Calle 13 connects with both men and women across a very wide portion of the population,” Universal Studios Networks Espana general manager Carina Pardavila said. The channel is now broadcast to 900,000 homes.
