Time Warner and Walt Disney’s ABC have apparently agreed to a seven-day halt to hostilities just hours before a deadline that could have seen ABC pull its programming from a Time Warner cable system in Houston.
The new deadline is March 9. If the sides haven’t reached an agreement on retransmission rights by then, Time Warner would have to stop transmitting KTKR-TV, the local ABC affiliate.
Other ABC stations included in the 10-year retransmission deal have a 30- day reprieve.
The fight centers on how much Time Warner would pay ABC for its programming and whether some other Disney offerings, like the Disney Channel, would be moved from pay to basic cable as Disney wishes.
