TNT starts ‘Bull’ session

Cabler orders 13 episodes of WB Wall Street drama

NEW YORK — In its first original series order, TNT has picked up 13 episodes of “Bull,” a one-hour drama series from Warner Bros. TV, the cabler announced Friday at the Television Critics Assn. Tour.

Exec produced by Michael Chernuchin (“Law & Order”), who wrote the original pilot, and Eric Laneuville (“I’ll Fly Away”), “Bull” will premiere this summer.

Peter Gallagher (“American Beauty”), Malik Yoba (“New York Undercover”), George Newbern (“Father of the Bride”), Donald Moffat (“Cookie’s Fortune”) and newcomer Ian Kahn will star in the Wall Street-set drama about a group of young stock traders who start their own company.

TNT also announced that it is planning “Summer of the Gods” (working title), a miniseries from Hallmark Entertainment based on Greek mythology. Robert Halmi Sr. will exec produce for Hallmark from a script by Peter Barnes (TNT’s “A Christmas Carol”). No casting has been announced for the mini, which will likely air in 2002.
